It requires that we do some simple things that will greatly improve the efficiency of training.

The main challenge of training is to overcome. When we train our muscles to the point when we can reach the weight we desire, some of our capacity for endurance is being taxed. It is not a simple recipe for success. It requires that we do some simple things that will greatly improve the efficiency of training.

I’ve been working on this for a couple of weeks, with a new book project. The point of the challenge is to get myself to use more muscle when I run, and to get some of my fitness to a reasonable level. One of the things I’ve been working on is learning how the muscles interact with each other, and learning how to make my movements more efficient – I’m not going to be going for anything more than “average” weight and distance. However, after several weeks of training (about 30 minutes a day, five days a week) I am hitting a new, higher-level plateau in strength. When I get back to home working on the book, I hope to be finding a new plateau in endurance (I’ll be doing a lot of long runs) and see if I can get my fitness up there.

My main training has been running for about 6 months now, with a few very long runs and 20km runs thrown in every month. As I’ve grown I’ve become more deliberate. I’ve read quite a few books on running form, and have worked out a “form” for the longer runs, and a “form” for the short but high-intensity interval runs I do.
