The best way is to learn how to eat and then build on what you’ve learned

This is my go-to diet for a reason. There’s no trick to this. It works for most everyone.

How many carbs per day? So the first rule of all is you must not eat for the sake of eating. Instead, eat for the sake of living and enjoying. This doesn’t mean you have to starve yourself – but you can never, ever eat for pleasure alone. You should be eating to keep yourself alive and you should also be making sure that other important nutrients are getting into your system by eating the right (healthy) foods.

Eating well is a habit. Your brain becomes accustomed to it pretty fast, which is why you end up eating the same way even when you’re not in control – whether it’s a family vacation or a date with a girl. So, here's the thing: I do not believe in the word "lifestyle", it only makes people lazy and unhappy. I am more of "lifestyle" advocate. Let's take a deep breath and enjoy the good life. If you really want to lose weight, I recommend you start by making sure you're not consuming anything unhealthy. One of the best ways to make this happen is to look at your diet as a map, so much that you'll never be lost. I want you to think of your diet as a road. You're the car who's taking you to your destination. The food you’re eating (or not eating), the way you’re sleeping and your attitude is all going to guide you down the road to your best destination.

I always hear the word 'diet' used in a negative way because the vast majority of people who do this will suffer from a myriad of side effects. For the first month, you are going to find it hard to stay on task. You will have some cravings that don't even come from pleasure, simply because you're not used to eating and enjoying food the way you used to. This is normal. You probably want to be able to eat whatever you want. You want to have the most food options in the world. Unfortunately, that's going to be really hard to do when you're restricted to a diet. Fortunately you can always jump rope to work those calories off again.
